Microsoft Doubles IE9 Usage Share
Internet Explorer 9 is gaining adoption on Windows 7 but is it enough?

Microsoft (NASDAQ:MSFT) is gaining market share for its' new Internet Explorer 9 web browser.
Whether or not IE9 adoption is enough to stem the tide of IE's overall declining share in the face of competition from Mozilla and Google remains to be seen.
"Just six weeks after the launch of Internet Explorer 9 we are about to reach a new milestone, as of the last day in April, IE9 is at 9.95 percent usage share worldwide on Windows 7," Ryan Gavin, senior director for IE business and marketing, said in a post to Microsoft's Exploring IE Blog,"For the entire month this averages 7.5 percent usage share on Windows 7 -- doubling the usage share number of 3.6 percent in March."

Facebook will end on March 15th 2012

PALO ALTO – Facebook continues to deny rumors it is shutting down on March 15th of 2012. WWN, however has confirmed that it is true.
On January 9th, WWN’s ace reporter, J.B. Smitts, broke the international story that Facebook was going to close down on March 15th because Mark Zuckerberg wanted to return to a normal life. The story caused a worldwide sensation, and J.B. Smitts has been nominated for a Pulitzer Prize for breaking it.

Facebook COO, Sheryl Sandberg has publicly denied the rumors, saying, “Facebook is not going to close down. Not now, not ever. We’re just getting started.”
David Ebersman, the CFO of Facebook, and the man working with Goldman Sachs on the new Facebook financing deal said, “many people feel that the deal with Goldman Sachs will lead to a change in Facebook or that we might shut down so the government won’t force us to go public. All of those rumors are false. We are going to be stronger than ever after March 15th.”
But WWN has spoken to insiders at Facebook who strongly contradict the public statements of the executive management team.
Sources inside Facebook tell us that the company is already making plans on how to handle the big shutdown. “We can’t just turn it off on March 15th of 2012. There will be a revolution,” said one insider. “We have to prepare our users for the end of Facebook and offer them ways to keep their social networks alive.”
Zuckerberg maintains that one year is enough time for users to prepare for the demise of Facebook. It also gives rival sites time to build up their user base.
There were rumors that Zuckerberg himself was going to appear on the Oscars on February 27th, when The Social Network is sure to win Best Picture of the Year Award. But Zuckerberg did not show. New rumors are that Zuckerberg will make “an important announcement to the world” about the future of Facebook when he meets with President Obama in the White House on June 15th.
Meanwhile, there is panic all around the globe as Facebook users (and addicts) are frightened that they may lose their social networking community. Top celebrities Tyra Banks, Mila Kunis, Britney Spears, Lady Gaga, Justin Beiber, Ashton Kutchter, Carrot Top, Meryl Streep, Danny Bonaduce and the Real Housewives of New Jersey and Atlanta are all panicking about losing Facebook. “I’m addicted to Facebook,” said Tyra Banks. “Without it, my life is over!”

Tax break keeps Twitter in San Francisco

(AFP) – San Francisco leaders have given preliminary approval to legislation that would keep fast-growing Twitter in the city with the lure of a payroll tax break.
The bill squarely aimed at keeping the hip microblogging service from moving out of town was portrayed as a way to revitalize a pair of chronically downtrodden neighborhoods in the heart of San Francisco Companies in what are referred to locally as the Mid Market Street and Tenderloin areas would not have to pay any payroll tax on new hires for the first six years
Twitter is undergoing a major growth spurt, with new hires coming on board weekly. Twitter had talked of moving to another northern California city with no payroll tax, but promised it would settle into a vacant Market Street building if the measure was approved.
City officials hope Twitter will spark an economic revival in the area by attracting other companies.
"There is great synergy between Twitter and the arts organizations and small retail businesses who are looking to expand in the area," San Francisco mayor Ed Lee said in a release.
"This six-year payroll tax exclusion for new jobs created on Central Market Street and in the Tenderloin Area will create new jobs, generate revenue for the City and has the potential to create a new innovation cluster on Central Market."
San Francisco board of supervisors must vote a second time on the bill before Lee can sign it into law. The second vote is expected to take place next week.

What's new in yahoo messenger?

Contact list view
When you signed into 9.0 for the first time, you probably noticed the changes in your contact list right away. This is the new “detailed” view of the contact list which shows a larger display image, status message and latest update from each contacts. If you prefer the older look of the contact list, just click the menu to the right of the contact search box and select “Compact List”. Similarly, you can click on the Contacts menu at the top of your main Messenger window to find these options.

Conversation / message formatting
In the IM conversation window, we switched to a format where the first message is on the same line as the name, and then subsequent messages are shown without names alongside. If you prefer to have your friend’s name next to every message they send in the conversation, there is a keyboard shortcut you can use to change it back to the old style.

Status menu makeover
We made a few changes to let you more easily share what you’re up to, what you’re into or what you’re thinking with your friends. One of the problems we wanted to address was being able to show you’re available or busy but still be able to share something with your friends like a website, video or funny thought. With this new status menu, you can indicate whether you’re busy or available and separately, provide a status message and even link to something interesting. Yes, the “canned” status messages are gone, but the last nine status messages you used will be listed in the dropdown menu.

New skins

We added eleven new skins to 9.0. To switch skin designs, click the gold dot to the left of the minimize/maximize/close buttons in the upper right corner of the main Messenger window.

Updates from your friends

Yahoo! Messenger 9.0 now displays updates from your contacts alongside their status messages when they make updates on the Yahoo! network at places like Yahoo! Movies, Sports, Shopping, Travel, or on other social websites like Twitter, YouTube, Last.fm, and more. The same goes for you – you can instantly share your own updates with your friends on Yahoo! M

Always know what's new

Picture of Windows Live HomeI don't know about you, but I find it tough to stay up-to-date on all the people I know. With e-mail, IM, text messages, and social networking sites, it feels like there are just too many places to check to see what my friends and family are up to. I could call them, but by the time I think about calling it's often either too late in their time zone, I'm out of cell phone minutes (whoops), or something else comes up.
But now all I have to do to see what people are up to is sign in to Windows Live. There, on my Windows Live home page, is a summary of what all my friends and family have been up to lately online, under "What's new with your network."
Windows Live Home is a great place to get started with almost anything you do online.
I can see everything new—blog posts, comments, photos, and other things that the people in my network have decided to share with me, and I can click the links to see more or comment about what they're doing. It's all the new stuff, at a glance. If you’ve used Messenger or Spaces before, then you probably already have people in your network on Windows Live. Your network is made up of your Messenger contacts and what used to be called your Spaces friends.
If you've never used Messenger or Spaces, it's easy to grow your network. You can find people already on Windows Live, and you can also invite your friends from other social networking sites, like Facebook. When you add people, you decide if you want to invite them to Messenger (so you can chat online), to appear on your profile (so other people can see who you know), or both. If someone accepts your invitation, they're in your network and you'll start seeing their updates in your “What's new” list. That's all you have to do!
The cool thing about the “What's new” list is that once you add people to your network, they'll see updates about you too. When I add new photos to Windows Live and share them, the people I've shared them with see my photos in the “What's new” list on their own Windows Live home page. So much easier than sending photos to lots of different people!
The other thing I like about the “What's new” list is you can add the things you do on other sites too. So if you already have an account with Flickr, Twitter, or Pandora, you can just add those activities to Windows Live. That way, the people in your network can see all the different things you're doing online.
When people in my network want to see everything I’ve been doing lately in one place, they can just go to my Windows Live profile page. There’s a list of what’s new on my profile page too, but this list is all about me. Any time I do something on Windows Live, it's automatically updated with the new things I've done. I can decide what activities to share, and who to share them with. If I want my best friend to see everything, when she visits my profile she sees everything. If I want my mom to only see certain photos I've added (like the cute ones of the cat), then that's all she can see.

HP Mini 1000HP Mini 1000

Screen Size: 8.9” / 10.2”
Battery Life: 3 hours
Operating System: Windows XP / Linux (Ubuntu)
Weight: 2.5lbs

HP’s last small laptop offering was the 2133. It was an interesting attempt at the market with an excellent control interface and keyboard. Unfortunately, use of a budget processor and a high price range meant the system couldn’t quite cut it amongst its competitors at the time. The Mini 1000 is HP’s consumer answer to the 2133, lifting the excellent keyboard straight from the business model while upgrading the CPU to the much more powerful Intel Atom.

The Mini 1000 runs on Windows XP, uses a 1.6 Ghz Intel Atom processor and comes with 1Gb or 2Gb memory options as standard. Nine or ten inch screens are available depending on preference and price range, and everything is powered by a standard 3-cell battery. The 'Mini' version of the range runsWindows XP but the 'Mi' runs Ubuntu Linux complete with proprietary HP media software. Hard drive options include a spinning 60GB drive or an 8/16GB solid state solution.

Like most HP machines, the 1000 stands out in the small laptop market for both its stylish design and light weight form factor. HP thankfully swapped out the metal chassis from the 2133 with plastic - it looks cheaper, sure, but you also save money and in weight in the swap. The laptop remains attractive once opened with an excellent use of the limited space on offer.

The amazing thing about the Mini 1000 and the thing that many people considering purchasing a small notebook should consider is the size of the keyboard. HP claim the keyboard on the 1000 is 92% of the size of a regular laptop keyboard. That's quite an achievement, and in terms of typing if nothing else, the 1000 is the best in the market. This makes the HP product perfect for people who have had a bad experience with key mashing or pain when using other small laptop keyboards.

The 10 inch display model offers the standard 1024x600 resolution seen in many small laptops. As with much of HP's laptop range, the screen is covered in gloss which makes the display look fantastic - inside. Outside on a sunny day you'll be constantly trying to adjust the screen to avoid reflection, a shame considering it does limit the portability of the device somewhat.

The only thing that lets the 1000 down slightly is the rather confusing decisions HP has made with the systems ports. The 1000 has 2 USB ports and only one port for audio. There's actually plenty of room for the extra ports but HP has decided to use the space for a proprietary system called 'Mini mobile drive'. Mini mobile drive is nothing more than a high capacity memory stick that you can only buy from HP, and we can't see any reason why most small laptop users would ever find a use for one.

The Mini 1000 retails from $500 depending on your options with the 'designer' Vivienne Tam edition selling for a ridiculously high $700+. We recommend grabbing the Windows XP 'Mini' range over the 'Mi' as the extra money you have to spend on Windows gives you so much more software options. An extend battery might also be on the cards for some users as the 1000 uses a 3-cell system that will only last around 2.5 hours under heavy use.

The biggest laptop in the world

Fujitsu Siemens turned things around with the biggest laptop in the world presented at this year’s CeBIT show in Hannover, Germany. A laptop can only be called a laptop if it fits on my lap. If, instead, the whole of my body can fit on its keyboard, and the screen is big enough to kill me if it suddenly drops, it is not a laptop anymore- how about a cracktop?

Samsung NC10

Samsung NC10

Screen Size: 10.2”
Battery Life: 5 Hours
Operating System: Windows XP
Weight: 2.8lbs

Samsungs entry to the market is the exact opposite of some of the niche systems we've already run through, sharing more in common with the EEE PC line - it's powerful, small and focuses on doing simple tasks as well as possible. Thanks to this focus on simplicity, the NC10 remains an excellent contender despite doing nothing 'special'.

The Samsungs design is piratical and uses a 10" screen. From the outside it looks like the epitome of a standard small laptop. It's not stylish but nor is it over-the-top, and it could easily be mistaken for just about every other non-descript small laptop on the market.

One of the ways the NC10 does differ from other models is that there are no options in terms of changing any of the specifications. There's no Linux version, no different CPU speeds, no option for a solid state drive. It offers a standard Intel Atom N270 configuration running at 1.6 GHz, 1GB of ram and a 160GB hard drive.

Control on the system is hit and miss. The 10" size has made the keyboard large and easy to use even if it's not the best on offer. However, the touchpad is awkwardly placed and oddly unresponsive. Worse still, Samsung have taken the rather odd design decision to make a 'widescreen' style touchpad which makes vertical scrolling a somewhat ardous task.

The systems Matte display runs at the 1024x600 and looks appealing and crisp, although it would be hard to differentiate between the NC10 and offerings from ASUS or Dell in terms of pure screen quality. Sound offers a similar 'adequate' quality without providing any real power. The integrated 1.3MP webcam however does stand out as one of the best in the world of small laptops and combined with a decent microphone it's a great system for talking to friends over the net.

Battery life is one of the few absolute standouts of the NC10, featuring a 6-cell standard battery that even beats out contenders like the EEE PC. Depending on the tasks and the brightness of the screen, the system can last for around 5 hours. The NC10 is also priced perfectly; at around $450-$500 - slightly cheaper than many of its direct competition.

Sony VAIO VGN-P588E Lifestyle PCSony VAIO VGN-P588E Lifestyle PC

Screen Size: 8”
Battery Life: 2.5 Hours
Operating System: Windows Vista Home Premium
Weight: 1.4lbs
Wow, that's a bit of a mouthful, isn't it? It's a rather pretentious name for what is essentially just another small laptop, but then the Vaio range has always been one for style and design following just behind apple in desirability ratings. It’s popular amongst people with the disposable income to afford to pay for the brand as well as the components.

And there's no denying that the P5's design is excellent. It's stylish without being loud. It’s thin and elegant. It looks like no other small laptop on the market, so if you're after some visual originality, the P5 has to be right up there with anything Apple can offer. It comes with a price tag to match the design however, weighing in it over a thousand dollars.

The Sony model opts for an 8 inch widescreen display, offering a resolution of 1,600 x 768, slightly different from the usual notebook standard. In fact, it's one of the best resolutions around for a system of its size and because the screen is so wide, there’s far less chance you'll have to worry about scrolling.
Sony's small laptop is also unusual in its decision to use a pointing stick rather than a touch pad to save space. Some people really dislike pointing sticks and find them slow and difficult to use, while others actually prefer them to a touchpad.. The keyboard is adequate and doesn't have any major faults, though as one of the smaller laptops in this list the lack of space does making typing quite a challenge for those with big hands.

One rather confusing design decision was the move to Windows Vista as opposed to more lightweight systems like Linux or XP. The P5 comes equipped with 2GB of ram, but where better operating systems would fly Vista feels slow and cumbersome. It's important to weigh in the resource load of the operating system when directly comparing system technical specifications. Of course, the eye catching design of Vista fits very well into the P5’s own visual attractiveness.

Extra features are what make the P5 stand out amongst cheaper competitors. It has .11n wireless which is faster than standard, GPS, Bluetooth and even integrated mobile broadband. This makes it highly connectable which is a massive bonus for a portable device. Combine this with its weight and fact it's less than inch thick and it's one of the best devices out there in terms of pure portability.

The battery life of the laptop is the only crutch on portability, offering just over 2 hours under heavy use. You could probably get more out of the system by swapping to a less battery draining operating system. Sony also offers a larger capacity battery that nearly doubles the life of the system, but it does stick out of the P5 and it costs another $100 on top of the already heavy price tag.

Hands On With Samsung’s Newest TV Tech: Wi-Fi Plasma, LED-Backlight LCD and 120Hz Blur Reduction

If you think all flat panels are the same, you haven't seen the stuff I'm about to show you. Remember that Wi-Fi 1080p plasma we told you about in April? Well that's it, above, and look ma, no wires. (Okay, there's a power cable plugged into the wall — who do you think built it, Nikolai Tesla?) After the jump, I'll show you the front and back of A/V box that the wireless TV uses, and maybe clue you into the joys of LED backlighting and 120Hz motion-blur reduction. (That last term has a kind of purr to it, am I right?
According to Samsung, this is the world's first 1080p Wi-Fi plasma. That's a lot of qualifiers, but it is pretty tasty, and according to the company, the issue of getting Hollywood's permission to stream 1080p video from Blu-ray or HD DVD is being resolved, and the TVs will ship in early October. They will be at 50" and 58" sizes, and will cost $600 more than the equivalent plasmas without Wi-Fi. Note the USB jack next to the HDMI input.
LED backlighting is the wave of the future for LCDs, and not just because they are "greener" than the current CCFLs. Because they can alternately dim and brighten 60 or 70 separate clusters of LEDs underneath the LCD panel, you get deeper contrast, but without losing detail in dark scenes. The TV in the shot below is the previously announced but never-before-shown LN-T4681F, a 46" set that will list for around $3,500. (Though the screen shows that idiotic Robots movie, the best demo of the TV's shadow and explosion capability was Batman Begins.
Finally, we turn to 120Hz. As many commenters have acknowledged, there are plenty of different types of 120Hz systems, and many different claims. I think the best ones are the ones that use image processing to interpolate new frames. (And yes, there are different types of interpolation, too, but let's skip that for now.) If you look at the photo I snapped of the TV here, Samsung's $3,000 46" LN-T4671F, you can actually see that for every two frames on the right, there's only one on the left. The camera don't lie, and believe me, it looked good in person too.

What’s New in PS3 Slim?

Few key Improvements/Features include -
- Size: 32% smaller
- Energy Efficient: 33% more efficient
- Weight – 36% lighter.
- Cheaper @ $299
- Available Models: 120GB ,150GB and a 250GB.
Physical comparison Slim vs. original Fat PS3:
The shape is relatively unchanged. We thought Sony shrunk it down by moving the PSU outside the body, like the Xbox 360, but no, it’s still the same. There’s no power brick.
Its power and eject touch buttons are changed to actual buttons (an improvement, I think), and the USB ports are shrunk down to 2. Also gone are any of the card readers. Because of the decreased size, the Slim is much less stable in vertical mode, which explains the $24 stand coming in September. You also can’t twist the PS logo on the front to vertical orientation, like you could the PS3 fat. (more images at bottom)
A good change is definitely the matted finish, but the decreased vents might mean that the slim is quieter and/or cooler. We’ll see once we start playing some games on it.
Audible comparison vs. original PS3:
We tested the two consoles with GT game. While the fans were pretty much the same between the two consoles, the disc drive is noticeably slightly louder on the PS3 Slim. Using a decibel-meter app on the iPhone, the Slim got somewhere between 25-33dB when playing the game, and the PS3 Fat got between 22-30dB. It’s not a huge difference, but you should remember that decibels are logarithmic, so every 3 decibels equals about double the loudness. So if this thing is accurate—which it probably isn’t, since it’s just an iPhone app—that’s about twice as loud.

Eve Talks 'Dope' Swizz Beatz Video For 'Everyday (Coolin')'

'I couldn't keep up,' Eve confesses to MTV News about Swizz's dance moves in new black-and-white clip.

It's been a while since fans have gotten to see Eve spitting some fiery verses while rocking killer couture. But the MC is back now, appearing on Swizz Beatz's funky track "Everyday (Coolin')," from his Haute Living album. She gives her quick cameo her signature sass.
She spits, "Eve-y E, I'm back on my bullsh--/ Came back, came back, back with a full clip/ Who want problem, wah, wah, wah, who want flip?/ Gun taste, one lick, wanna get some of this/ You see that hot pink Birkin, that's a problem/ I'm hot like everything kickin', I'm a problem/ Yeah, I'm a walking bow/ You might talk a lil' one, but your looks are 'oh.' "
MTV News caught up with Eve on Monday, and she spoke to us about "Everyday (Coolin')" and the sleek new black-and-white video for it, which features lots of high-end fashion and one of Diddy's sons as one of the kid dancers.
"The video, well, like you said, that's Swizz [being himself]. People don't know, Swizz's energy is through the roof, but that's what makes him him," Eve said. "It was a dope video. It's very stylish. It's in black-and-white, but you can see everything and Taj, who's an up-and-coming director, directed it and he's real dope."
Flashing lights, high-octane energy and playful set-ups make for one eye-catching video. "[Taj] has a great eye and a lot of the stuff looks like it could have been a still picture, and I think that's how he wanted it," she said of the fashion-shoot vibe. "And I think, just look-wise, obviously, I wanted to make sure I looked amazing, so Swizz is beyond it. He's got his dance moves; I couldn't keep up. I couldn't keep up with the dance moves, but I think a lot of people are going to like the video."

'The Voice' Blind Auditions Round Ends, Judges Form Their Teams

Plus, previously rejected contestants get a second shot at tryouts.

After a strong series premiere last week, NBC's "The Voice" continued on with its all-talent-no-looks journey to discover the next music sensation on Wednesday night by ending the competition's highly promoted blind auditions round and establishing eight-contestants-per-judge teams.
Unlike the previous episode, which kicked off with a flashy performance from the entire judging panel — Christina Aguilera, Cee Lo Green, Adam Levine and Blake Shelton — the second episode quickly recapped the competition's rulebook and went straight into the auditions.
After serving as a background singer for the likes of Carrie Underwood and Gretchen Wilson, contestant Cherie Oakley told viewers that she was finally ready for the limelight herself. "It's making me teary-eyed because I've waited a really long time to have my shot and it means a lot," the 29-year-old contestant said before walking onstage. Oakley delivered a high-energy rendition of Miranda Lambert's (Shelton's fiancée) "Gunpowder and Lead," but failed to catch the eye of the country superstar, instead receiving a team invite from Aguilera.
"I could just tell you were attacking it ... I'm interested in seeing what I can do taking a different genre in and seeing what we can create," the powerhouse diva gushed to Oakley.
While rivalry between the judges (particularly Levine and Aguilera) was heightened during the series premiere of the singing competition, dynamics remained a bit calmer between the mentors during the second portion of the blind auditions round as seen during contestant Devon Barley's performance.
"I didn't spin my chair around because, honestly, I really thought you reminded me a little bit of something that Adam could definitely work with," Xtina told the 19-year-old contestant, who joined Levine's team shortly after. "Look at us making nice. This is so great," the Maroon 5 frontman told the pop star, to which she playfully laughed.
Despite the pressure to form their eight-contestant crews, the celebrity panel didn't cave in and accept just anybody, as Josh Hand (who offered an acoustic version of Lady Gaga's "Paparazzi") and Angela Wolff (who delivered a cover of Miranda Lambert's "The House That Built Me") were just two of many aspiring superstars that were passed on.
"The Voice" continued to push its looks-don't-matter agenda, which was particularly evident when Levine pushed his red button for a male contestant who he thought was a female. "Don't be insulted by this. I thought you were a chick. I thought you were going to be a girl when I turned around," he surprisingly told 39-year-old Tim Mahoney, who responded, "I've heard that about my voice a lot."
Wannabes of all kinds came to try out for the blind auditions rounds, including 36-year-old Nakia, whose rough voice added his own twist to his rendition of Cee Lo's smash hit "Forget You." Dressed in a black suit and tie, the contestant rushed to the front of the stage as the intro to the judge's song began. Fortunately, the contestant's cover ended on a high note, gaining a team invitation from Cee Lo and Shelton. Nakia, of course, chose the R&B singer.
As the teams grew close to full formation, host Carson Daly informed viewers that the coaches' caution to invite hopefuls onto their teams had placed them in a position where they needed to reconsider previous contestants who were rejected. In an effort to complete the blind audition stage of the competition, contestants were invited back (by random selection) to the stage and offered another opportunity to audition.
It was this strategic move that helped hopeful Jared Black propel himself from show reject to a member of Shelton's team, which he was originally close to joining during Black's first audition last week. Previously declined contestant Wolff also became Levine's final addition to his team after singing a rendition of Adele's "Rolling in the Deep."
With the blind auditions round over and the teams all set, "The Voice" moves to a new timeslot, Tuesdays at 10 p.m. ET/9 p.m. CT, and ventures into its "battle" rounds, where judges will mentor their contestants and watch as teammates duke it out against one another.

Lil B, Consequence And Pharoahe Monch Are Coming To 'Rap Fix Live'!

Consequence promises to 'address all the drama' surrounding him, Kanye West and G.O.O.D. Music on Wednesday at 4 p.m. ET on MTV.com.

Things will be heating up on Wednesday's edition of MTV News "Rap Fix Live." Not only do we have an exclusive interview with one of the game's hottest up-and-comers, Lil B, we also have fire flame spitter Pharoahe Monch stopping by as well.

If that isn't enough, Consequence will be sitting on the couch with Sway, and he's ready to address all the drama surrounding him, Kanye West and G.O.O.D. Music on "Rap Fix Live" Wednesday at 4 p.m. ET.
Consequence broke onto the rap scene in 1996, appearing on a number of tracks with the iconic Queens rap group A Tribe Called Quest on their Beats, Rhymes and Life LP. From there, Cons continued to make his mark on the mixtape scene before linking up with Kanye West a few years later. Once 'Ye climbed up the rap ranks and developed his own label (G.O.O.D. Music), Consequence was added to the roster, as were other notable acts like Kid Cudi, Big Sean and Pusha T.
In 2007, the Queens MC released his debut album Don't Quit Your Day Job, but his follow-up LP Cons TV has been oft-delayed. As a result, a noticeable, but largely unspoken, rift has grown between Cons and Kanye. When it comes to the situation with West and G.O.O.D. Music, Consequence has been relatively quiet — until now.
That's not all: Pharoahe Monch, whose latest album, W.A.R. (We Are Renegades), has received tons of critical acclaim, will come through to talk about his place in the rap game, while Lil B will give viewers insight into his controversial upcoming album I'm Gay.

Lady Gaga's Born This Way Is 'Genuine To Her,' Producer Says

Fernando Garibay talks about working on the album, due May 23.

When Lady Gaga released her Born This Way track listing Monday, "Born This Way" producer Fernando Garibay's name was all over it — as was expected, considering he worked intimately with Gaga to produce the tracks that made the final cut. In late February, Garibay spoke to MTV News in detail about Mother Monster's vision for her highly anticipated release.

"She asked me to musically direct the album with her," he explained. "Basically, that means for me, that meant to push her vision out for these records, for the album, but every song is really special.
"Every song tells almost like a musical. It just kind of keeps going forward. We did this [dance] song that possibly might be the third single; it's called 'Marry the Night.' It's probably one of my favorite songs on the album. It tells about being yourself and individuality and never forgetting who you are."
Garibay explained how he and Gaga, along with the other producers on the album such as RedOne and DJ White Shadow, worked on the album.
"What's interesting is that the great thing about dance songs is for me most of the time they start off as ballads and that's the approach I've been trying to keep going," he said. "We wrote songs, particularly Gaga wrote these songs, to live in a dance environment. Yeah, they're dance, but I think the whole thing, too, is that they're songs and genuine to her."
Fans are excited to see what Gaga has up her always-evolving sleeve on this album. And while Garibay knows what it sounds like, he won't give away too many details other than the fact that he's really proud of it.
"I'm excited about the whole album. I'm proud of the way we got together and made this album," he said. "It's a collective of some cool people all trying to facilitate her and to explore her vision, her statement. I'm excited for albums to be albums again, and this is leading in that direction. ... I think the message, the big statement was obviously the single, and I think it's the single, 'Born This Way,' serves as an introduction to the album. Again, it's a statement about equality."

Britney Spears Says Femme Fatale Tour Will Be 'Spectacular'

Singer also hopes her choreographers create the 'most outrageous things.'

Britney Spears is known for delivering an over-the-top stage show, and she promises that her forthcoming Femme Fatale Tour alongside Nicki Minaj will be no different.
In a new video interview posted on her website, the pop princess opens up about her 26-date summer venture, which is set to kick off June 16 in Sacramento and make its way across North America, before concluding August 13 in Toronto.
"The Femme Fatale Tour will hopefully just be outrageously spectacular," Spears said when asked about the trek. "I'm just hoping that the choreographers will come up with just the most outrageous things, and I'm really excited."
While it's been just over a month since the release of Femme Fatale, Brit gushed about the outing, saying, "This is one of the most excited I've been about a project in a really long time, so I can't wait."
While a set list has yet to surface, it would make sense that some of Spears' personal favorite Femme Fatale cuts will be performed throughout her concert, which she revealed as "He About to Lose Me," "Criminal" and "Till the World Ends."
Fans caught an early glimpse at the forthcoming tour last week when video footage of the pop star rehearsing the Bloodshy & Avant-produced "How I Roll" surfaced online. Wearing a baby-blue sports bra and sweatpants, a smiling Spears showed off some playful dance moves surrounded by a group of dancers.
Spears' manager, Larry Rudolph, told MTV News back in March that the tour is expected to have a postapocalyptic theme in tune with her latest single, "Till the World Ends." "This is exactly the direction we're moving in," he said. " 'Till the World Ends' keeps becoming a theme for us. ... The way we come up with a concept for a show like this is we sit with Britney, she talks to us about what she's interested in and what excites her."

Director/co-writer Mike Cahill (Boxers + Ballerinas, King of California) teams with producer/co-writer Brit Marling to challenge our concepts of reality and redemption with this romantic sci-fi drama about a radiant astrophysics student who endeavors to travel to Earth 2, a newly-discovered mirror of our own home planet. Rhonda Williams (Marling) was driving in her car and listening to the radio when the DJ announced the discovery of Earth 2, which had just appeared from the other side of the sun. Gazing out her window at the newly discovered planet, Rhonda neglectfully careens into a minivan carrying a small family. Everyone but the father is killed instantly, and Rhonda is sentenced to four years in prison. Upon emerging, the repentant reckless driver finds herself drawn to the lone survivor. Meanwhile, Rhonda learns of an essay contest to win a seat on a civilian space shuttle to Earth 2. Perhaps, on that strangely familiar planet, an alternate version of herself exists -- one that has made different choices, and followed a different life path. The only way she will ever find out is to win the contest, and secure her seat on a ride into the great unknown. ~ Jason Buchanan, Rovi

'Eclipse,' 'Inception' Lead 2011 MTV Movie Awards Nominations

Voting is now open for the 20th annual show, airing live on June 5 at 9 p.m. ET.

For the second time in three years, the vampires of "Twilight" are leading the charge at the MTV Movie Awards. For this year's show, Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart's "Eclipse" flick nabbed eight nominations — including Best Movie, Best Fight and Best Kiss — narrowly besting the dream thieves of "Inception" (seven noms) and the wizards of "Harry Potter and The Deathly Hallows: Part 1" (six noms). All three films have been nominated for Best Movie and will compete with "Black Swan" (four nods) and "The Social Network" (five nods) for the night's top prize. (Here is the complete list of 2011 MTV Movie Awards nominees.)
Hosted by Jason Sudeikis, the 20th annual MTV Movie Awards airs live on Sunday, June 5, at 9 p.m. ET, from the Gibson Amphitheatre in Universal City, California. Starting Tuesday (May 3) you'll be able to head to MovieAwards.MTV.com to vote for a winner in every category until June 4. Voting for Best Movie, however, will stay open throughout the awards show — meaning you'll have a chance to affect the night's biggest prize until the very last minute.
Stewart and Pattinson, who each took home a best performance win at last year's show, are again competing in those respective categories. For Female Performance, Stewart ("Eclipse") goes up against Emma Stone ("Easy A"), Emma Watson ("Deathly Hallows"), Jennifer Aniston ("Just Go With It") and Natalie Portman ("Black Swan"). Pattinson ("Eclipse") vies for Male Performance with Radcliffe ("Deathly Hallows"), Jesse Eisenberg ("The Social Network"), Taylor Lautner ("Eclipse") and Zac Efron ("Charlie St. Cloud").
This year, MTV is introducing a new category, Best Line From a Movie, which pits the likes of Jessie Eisenberg in "Social Network" ("If you guys were the inventors of Facebook, you'd have invented Facebook") against Tom Hardy in "Inception" ("You mustn't be afraid to dream a little bigger, darling") and Alexys Nycole Sanchez in "Grown Ups" ("I want to get chocolate wasted").
Justin Bieber makes his debut in the Movie Awards nomination process, as the 17-year-old pop phenom enters the Best Jaw-Dropping Moment fray. The "Never Say Never" star faces off against James Franco ("127 Hours"), Leonardo DiCaprio and Ellen Page ("Inception"), Natalie Portman ("Black Swan") and Steve-O ("Jackass 3D").
The Best Kiss category features a lip-smacking showdown of "Twilight" franchise stars: Stewart and Pattinson versus Stewart and Lautner, in addition to Ellen Page and Joseph Gordon-Levitt ("Inception"), Watson and Radcliffe ("Deathly Hallows") and Portman and Mila Kunis ("Black Swan"). Reigning Best Villain champ Tom Felton ("Deathly Hallows") returns to the fold once again to battle Christoph Waltz ("The Green Hornet"), as well as Leighton Meester ("The Roommate"), Mickey Rourke ("Iron Man 2") and Ned Beatty ("Toy Story 3").

Vilanculos, Mozambique
it does take some effort to get there, but the trip is well worth it. It’s not so much the town of Vilanculos but the tranquil haven of Bazaruto Islands off its coast. The islands (without permanent residents) are everything one can dream of: miles of untouched sand, limpid warm waters, coral reefs, fluorescent fish, dhows, extraordinary sunsets, seafood. Don’t forget to take a peek at the island’s interior. The sand dunes, mangrove forests and inland lakes are home to 125 species of birds as well as a variety of mammals and even one or two crocodiles.

Malta

is a wonderful little island, it is just lovely for a short stay, especially the town of Dragonara near Valletta. The historical scenery is beautiful, the people are very laid back and the weather is nice all the time. It is usually mild in Malta during the winter, with plenty of sunshine, with daytime temperatures usually 15ÂșC or above. Malta is mostly famous for its historical sights, but you will find an interesting night life, especially in St Julians – island’s answer to Ibiza. Carnival in Malta, which is usually held in February, during one whole week, is somewhat very popular. It is great fun consisted of masked balls, fancy dress and grotesque mask competitions, lavish late-night parties, a colorful, ticker-tape parade of allegorical floats, marching bands and costumed revelers.
